Amanda – Assessor

I have worked as an assessor for KYP for over 13 years. I currently support learners on the Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship and also Level 5 Children, Young People and Families Manager Apprenticeship. I have regular meetings with learners to support their learning and development, to monitor and review their progress and to give feedback and guidance. I work closely with other assessors and IQA’s and attend team meetings and standardisation meetings. This also provides opportunities for us to share knowledge, good practice and ensure consistency.

I am also a mentor for new assessors joining the team and have supported them in learning about their role. I am currently undertaking the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. This is further developing my skills, knowledge, and teaching practices. This will benefit and support the learners through providing structured and engaging learning sessions and also individualised support to meet their learning needs. KYP has provided a supportive environment for me to learn and grow my skills as an assessor/tutor.
