The overall aim of the UK standards is to support the student in their demonstration of experience, knowledge, and skills, through the core concepts of competence and practice. KYP service delivery is predicated upon experiential learning where the learner is actively involved with the realities being studied.  Learning and development enables to students to be in control of their continuing professional development. Regular supervision with an experienced practitioner will encourage reflection on practice.
