When I first was registered to complete my diploma, I was dubious and apprehensive as it had been a while since I had studied, meeting with Laura was great as instantly I felt reassured and confident without being judged.
Throughout the diploma we had various catch ups along the way and Laura guided me through each module ensuring I knew what was expected of me and I was able to talk about my current role giving examples along the way, this also helped me to understand my writing of the diploma as I could reference the scenarios. Laura always made time to meet with me and to ensure I fully understood everything before letting me complete my next unit. Although there was not any hurry to complete, I was able to take breaks where necessary when family life was not so great and complete multiple units a month where I was able to be a bit more flexible.
Completing my Apprenticeship with KYP has given me so much more than a qualification, it has shown me that I am capable and has instilled confidence within me. After 24 months in the industry, I am now a deputy manager for a children’s residential home, and this was a role I never thought possible within 2 short years, however I am living proof that with hard work, determination and a supportive positive tutor behind you, you can do what ever you wish to do.
