Established in 2011, Know Your Potential Consultancy Ltd (KYP) is an independent training provider listed on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP) and approved to deliver levy-funded apprenticeships. As a City & Guilds accredited centre, KYP specialises in delivering apprenticeship programmes in Health and Social Care, Dementia Care, and services for Children and Young People across the United Kingdom.
Vision and Values
KYP’s vision—“We believe talent has no limits”—is embedded across all aspects of provision. Its mission centres on maximising individual potential through high-quality, learner-centred education and training. The provider’s values, encapsulated in the acronym “I CARE” (Integrity, Commitment, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence), are consistently reflected in both staff conduct and learner experiences.
Key Strengths Aligned to Ofsted Criteria
1. Quality of Education
KYP delivers a broad and ambitious curriculum designed to address evolving sector demands. Programmes offered include:
- Children, Young People and Families Practitioner (Level 4)
- Children, Young People and Families Manager (Level 5)
- Dementia Care (Levels 2–5)
- Health and Social Care (Levels 2–5)
Curriculum design ensures clear progression pathways, with many learners advancing to higher-level qualifications or achieving career promotions during or following their apprenticeships.
2. Personalised Learning and Support
- Learners benefit from highly individualised and adaptive support strategies. Delivery is tailored by assessors and internal quality assurers (IQAs) to meet specific learner needs, promoting engagement and accessibility.
- High-quality Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) is a defining strength, with an emphasis on learner well-being and self-care—crucial within emotionally demanding vocational sectors.
- Learner feedback highlights strong relational support: “My Assessor is always available for me.”
3. Leadership and Management
- KYP’s leadership fosters a positive and inclusive organisational culture. The Managing Director is widely described as approachable and accessible, with an open-door policy that encourages communication.
- Recent enhancements to governance include the implementation of a board structure featuring external members as “critical friends,” contributing to robust oversight of teaching and learning.
- Continuous professional development (CPD) is embedded in organisational practice, with staff encouraged to upskill, engage in reflective practice, and share expertise across the team.
4. Employer Engagement and Partnerships
- Strong, long-standing partnerships with employers and sector stakeholders underpin KYP’s provision. These relationships support a tripartite approach to learner development, involving active collaboration between the provider, employer, and learner.
- Employers consistently commend KYP’s responsiveness and sector awareness: “They know exactly what we and our employees need.”
5. Safeguarding and Learner Welfare
- Safeguarding is prioritised through proactive IAG, pastoral care, and early intervention. Staff routinely exceed contractual expectations, including providing out-of-hours support.
- A notable example of this commitment includes helping apprentices affected by redundancy to quickly secure alternative employment using local labour market insights.
6. Continuous Improvement
- KYP is making strong progress in enhancing data collection and analysis systems to drive continuous quality improvement. Further developments in this area remain a strategic focus.
- Regular team and standardisation meetings ensure consistency in delivery, while peer learning days promote collaboration, reflective dialogue, and the sharing of best practice among learners.
